"Don't do it, Eleanor told the little girl; insist on your cup of stars; once they have trapped you into being like everyone else you will never see your cup of stars again."

Anonymous said: Have you ever taken art classes or does all of this come to you naturally? You have such beautiful work. I wish I could draw like you.
Aww, thank you. I was by no means naturally good at this, though I don’t have a lot of schooling either. You just have to draw a whole lot whether you take classes or you don’t. Draw every day.
I took art classes in high school but they were taught by a football coach who liked to paint generic landscapes and did no actual teaching, so I mostly hid under the counter and drew whatever the hell I wanted (which at the time was video game fan art and bad goth stuff.) I was pressured into going to college right out of high school even though I had wanted to take a year off, so I tried taking art classes then as well. I ended up dropping out before the first semester was over because I was, as I had known, not ready for college. The only thing I remember learning from that brief disaster was how to pronounce, “chamois.” I kept drawing on my own, though, and years later I think I’m finally getting somewhere with it.
Anonymous said: how do you scan your photos? they look so nice and neat.
I have an Epson WF-7510 and it’s the nicest thing I own and scans much better than any other scanner I’ve had (which makes sense because I actually paid for this one and all the others typically came from people who just kind of shrugged and said, “Hey, I have this scanner I don’t use. You want it?”) I usually scan at around 800 dpi. Then I adjust levels to get as close to life as possible in Pixelmator, which is glitchy as hell and sometimes doesn’t work and I have to get up and go do something else for a while before it decides to cooperate. I should probably have Photoshop by now. This has been a pretty rambling answer for something that only takes two steps.
A woman gave this to me while I was waiting at the post office. She did not give one to anyone else. Probably because I look like a sad garbage witch.
Ladiessss. I haven’t been painting as much as I should this summer but I’m trying. Acrylics on paper.
Just started off doodling cute little witches during breaks but then they kind of took over.
Gracie-Law is Tumblr’s national treasure. Do it for her kids. Do it for America.
Having a child who is sick is hard, so you can imagine that having to take care of a child with an intense disease like Friedreich’s Ataxia can be. Gracie-Law and her family are having a tough time. Amongst a dozen other setbacks, she is working hard to take care of her son who is suffering from this debilitating and rare disease. It’s certainly been putting a strain on the family and no amount of help from the government can cover all of the bills they have.
VinylReviewProject and WabiSabiforRobots have been discussing the problems facing Gracie-Law for a while now and, with her approval, decided to start raising money for her. They went to friends and well-wishers, asking them to contribute tracks for a compilation to help support her.
When you donate money to Gracie-Law, you’ll receive this compilation for free. All of the proceeds that we receive are going directly to Gracie-Law and none of the artists have received any compensation for their work. We have set the minimum contribution at $5, but we encourage you to give more. They could really use the help.
