I mostly use Liquitex Basics, though I’d like to try out some higher quality acrylics soon. I like taklon brushes. Lately I’ve been painting on birch panels a lot. My process is pretty much just this: sketch something, scan and clean it up, print and transfer it to my canvas, make coffee, put on some dreamy music, forget the world while smudging paint around. That’s probably not a very informative answer…hmm…I like to work with really thin paint to build up smooth layers. I mostly mix with water, though I also use matte or gloss mediums sometimes. But not glazing medium because that stuff is awful. You have to work really quickly when blending with acrylics because as soon as they start getting tacky you’ll pull the paint and mess things up, and it took me a while to get the hang of that. So…that’s about it, really.
One of those days where you wake up, make tea, then go back to bed with a sketchbook.
